First Major Drive
Waking up with a bit of a head ache, Steve at first forgot where he was until he remembered we were on a road trip. After I got up and became functional, we both went down to raid Liz's fridge for breakfast. The mission was a success, and we were shortly joined by Tori. After a quick recap of the night with some good laughs we said our good-byes and headed out on the road. The drive through MD, into SW PA, and the through WV was really pretty and we had our traditional road trip weather of blue skies, a few clouds, and an open road. Steve forgot to pack his atlas, so for a while we were just following our instinctive male sense of direction. We then called Tori's dad to make sure we were going the right way. It turns out we were, which proves that we innately have superior sense of direction. We did stop at WVU which was pretty cool, and in the middle of nowhere. We got to see the football stadium and a little bit of the campus. This was a little bit of a homecoming for Steve cause he visited WVU quite frequently in his younger years. We then made that final push to Cincinnati, and by final push I mean we only had 250 miles to go. Wow, I forgot what that feeling of just continuously driving felt like, but damn did I miss it. When we finally got into Cincinnati, after taking a short detour into KY, we found our hotel and it was right in the heart of the action of the city. The area was very cool with a bunch of neat restaurants, open air squares with festivals going on, and a lot of bums. That was the only negative part of the city, we must have been asked for change at least 3000 times. But besides that we got a nice meal, and went out to get some drinks later and then called it a night, so we could get an early start and maximize our time in St. Louis.
