Fun Times in Frederick

So driving out to Frederick, MD, I wasn't sure what to expect, but knew it was going to be fun because I would be hanging out with Liz and Tori.  Once I got onto old I-70 there was a sign that got me really pumped for the trip.  It stated that Denver was 1700 miles away, but I somehow didn't get a picture of it.  Those signs always seem like a joke, but I was actually doing it.  As soon as I got off the exit for Tori's house, the sun came out lighting up the country side and it was really pretty.  I liked the area, it was pretty rural, but very nice.  I found Tori's house, she gave me the tour and then we headed into the pool, which was a very nice start to the road trip.  We hung out for a while, I talked to her dad a lot because he has done a lot of traveling across the country and it was really interesting to hear some of his stories.  We then went to Liz's house (who got her wisdom teeth out the day before, I can't escape the dental thing) for dinner and got to meet her parents and talked to them about our trip.  Most adults that I've talked to about our trip seem really happy that we are doing this when we are young and actually have the time to do this.  It makes me feel good because I know that I am making the most of my time.  From Liz's we headed into downtown Frederick.  Tori drove us and it was kind of terrifying.  Tori hadn't driven in like 10 days so she was "a little rusty."  We did get to go around a circle intersection 1 and 1/2 times, that was fun.  We then finished our ride to Frederick and I was pretty impressed.  It was a lot like Media, but a wider main street and an older feel to it, I liked it.  So what do we do best when we are road tripping and out for a night on the town?  You guessed it...bar crawl.  We met up with 2 of Tori's and Liz's friend, Brandon and Harkem.  They were fun to hang out with and could drink like pros.  At one bar, the bartender was doing card tricks for us and cracking jokes.  Another bar had an 8.1% ABV beer that was delicious and deadly, but the last bar was maybe the best.  The Old Towne Tavern was very interesting.  The crowd seemed to be the locals from the Frederick area, but they had karoake and amazing drink specials.  A pitcher of domestic was $2.50 and got cheaper as the night went on.  Needless to say, the beer was flowing quite well.  The night ended with a Wawa stop and sleep time at Liz's.  A good first night for the trip.  Tomorrow we start to really drive.
